The Future of Adult and Lifelong Learning in the Age of AI

October 14 @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm

Artificial intelligence is changing the skills people need throughout their working lives. For adult education providers, this raises important questions about how to prepare learners, support educators and make opportunities for further learning accessible.

On 14 October, The Open University will host a conference in Milton Keynes exploring these questions as part of Milton Keynes Tech Week. The event will bring together researchers, educators, employers, policymakers and technology professionals to examine the relationship between AI, lifelong learning and the changing workplace.

Through keynote presentations, case studies, panel discussions and exhibitions, the programme will explore:

  • How AI is changing careers, workplace skills and continuing education.
  • How education providers and employers can collaborate to support learning throughout life.
  • How organisations can introduce AI responsibly, with attention to inclusion and human needs.

The conference offers adult education professionals an opportunity to connect research with practical experience and consider how their provision can respond to technological change.

More information, the programme and registration are available here.
